WDANZ
was established by
Dennis Smith, on 31st May, 2006, after a nationwide
survey of Web Developers indicated that there was then support within the industry in New Zealand for the WDANZ concept.
Following consultation with a sample of selected Web Developers, Dennis received encouragement sufficient to establish a
commercially based operation that provided real, practical, tangible services that gave commercial benefit to the Web
Development industry. The organization's structure, industry advisors, and some Partner and Sponsor relationships were
established and developed during June, 2006, prior to a public launch on 4th July 2006.

Dennis reviews the third year of WDANZ achievements: having developed a strong brand, provided extensive "under-the-hood" type services such as business brokerage, dispute resolution and mediation, support and training for members and
new entrants to the industry.
