NEW ZEALAND SOFTWARE ASSOCIATION
Tuesday 11th NovNETWORKING DINNER - With Guest speaker Neil Butler, Executive Director and former CEO of Optimation New Zealand Ltd.
Subject: "Surviving and thriving through market chaos "
The rapid slide into global economic chaos has the potential to leave New Zealand software businesses struggling to secure the financial support and investor capital they need to survive. But the wholesale disruption of traditional models will also open up new opportunities for smart operators.
As the founder and director of Optimation, Neil Butler has been through this before.
His company pursued several new business models, including an export-focused joint venture with a major multinational, which enabled it to survive the fallout and come out the other side stronger and more competitive.
Neil will reflect on his experiences and talk about what worked, what didn't work, and the traps that await the unwary grasping for a life raft in these uncertain times.
About Neil Butler:
Neil Butler is Executive Director and former CEO of ICT services company Optimation New Zealand Ltd.

Neil's experience in the software industry has run the gamut of business models, including large-scale bespoke development projects, development of packaged software for specific vertical markets, product acquisition and re-development/enhancement, and international partnerships.
