GENERAL POLICY
- WDANZ aims to comply with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
- WDANZ will educate members and the public in relation to the UEMA.
- WDANZ will provide an unsubscribe option on outbound promotional email.
- WDANZ will enter into any reasonable communications with any party at any time in regard to the UEMA (we won't hide!).
SPECIFIC POLICY
Outbound emails promoting WDANZ news, events, business or services will be limited to recipients in which prior consent has
been granted by way of:
- Prior personal contact - as evidenced by receipt of a business card, a documented meeting or attendance at a WDANZ
event, or by any other reasonable means - inferred consent
- Prior telephone communication with the recipient (excluding NO CONTACT or UNSUBSCRIBE requests) - inferred consent
- Prior email exchanges (excluding NO CONTACT or UNSUBSCRIBE requests) - inferred consent
- Publicly visible email addresses (such as websites) for persons, or businesses in the web development industry or
directly related industries (such as for example web marketing, web journalism etc) - deemed consent
- WDANZ Members, Speakers, Sponsors and Partners - express consent
NO CONTACT REQUESTS
Although unsolicited fax or telephone calls are specifically excluded from the UEMA, as a good corporate citizen, WDANZ
will honour any request for 'no contact'.
